So, most of you know June 19th is the big day!!!!!! I had this crazy idea after spending months dreaming of opening my farmhouse decor boutique that I would stop dreaming and make it a reality. I mean, what single mother of two handsome, rambunctious little boys and a Labrabull puppy who works a full-time job, and ubers wouldn't want to grab hold of her dream and start her own business?!?!?! Exciting, right? Well, I have one week to prepare for the grand debut of Michael Nicole's Farmhouse Decor at my Neighborhood Garage Sale; and a ton of decor to build to post the photos to promote my website.
It all started with building my first home and looking at blank walls for two years! I knew the type of decor I wanted, but I could never find what I wanted online. One day I decided I would try to build the decor myself. If you can't find what you want, you make it :) Oh, if it could all be so simple. A circular saw from my boyfriend for Christmas was the beginning of a fun adventure of Home Depot trips and a newfound obsession with Ryobi tools!
How My Day Started ...
It's 1:00 am, Ashton and Ayden are leaving for their trip to Indiana to visit their Dad for the summer tomorrow morning. All I can think about is how they still need to be packed, and I need to get these wood projects done ASAP! 1 week until Boutique Debut, and I have so much to build in such little time!!!!!!!
I woke up at 4:30 am while my two little men were peacefully asleep and got straight to work. Yes, bonnet on and all 😂🤣😂😅! I threw their clothes in the washer first and went straight to my wood projects. My baby boy Bourbon was the only one kind enough to keep me company.
Bourbon followed his mommy all around the house. We started in the kitchen, turning the island into our workspace. We then went to the garage for our spray painting and sanding. Today, we worked on our medium size 3D scrabble tiles. They are 9.25 x 9.25 with 5 in. chipboard letters. We went with the distressed gray and white color for the tile with black painted letters. It was a success! I was able to complete the project in 3 hours!
